Scented Candles

Unlike other candles, which often contain paraffin wax—a petroleum-based product that produces harmful by-products when burned or melted—A.Sparrow candles are made from 100% natural waxes, such as soy wax, coconut wax, and beeswax.

We do not use palm oil, paraffin, mineral oils, or petroleum jelly.

While mineral oils like paraffin or petroleum jelly are commonly used to enhance the appearance of candles, we are committed to using 100% natural waxes. These are more challenging to work with but are eco-friendly, burn slowly with less soot and smoke, and do not release toxic chemicals.

A.Sparrow wicks are made of cotton. We carefully test the wicks to ensure a perfect fit for the construction of the candle.

You will find that our candles burn cleanly, evenly with a pool of liquid wax all the way across the surface of the candle within 2-3 hours; all being signs of a well constructed candle.

We primarily use premium synthetic fragrance oils specifically formulated for candles. These are less likely to cause allergic reactions, and in many cases, their molecular structure is identical to that of their natural counterparts.

Despite some manufacturers' claims, essential oils are not ideal for candle making. They are highly flammable and do not bind well with wax.

In exceptional formulations, we may include ‘absolutes’ or essential oils in very small quantities.

Fragrance is a matter of personal preference, but we always strive to ensure our candle scents closely resemble those found in nature

While almost anyone can make a candle, not everyone aspires to the same level of excellence that we do.
